The social security fund is run by the popular committee headed by the secritry of popular committee of the fund whose main office is based in tripoli , and whose action extends through the territory via regional and local offices.
The FFS is considered as one of the most important financial institues in lybia specialized in the social security services,and the investment of the available funds and reserves. Thrugh its volum investment branches:
- real estate (housing , hotels, tourist villages, … etc)
- bank deposits
- shares in public and private enterprises
During the year 2005 the strategy of the SFF was based on diversification in forms and sources of investment according to the low no. 5 for encouragement of foreign capitals investment by offering several investment opportunities for foreigner investors , in order to consolidate libya's image as prosperous and promised destination.
